I have been going here for a while but as of recently prices have gone up and for some reason it takes about 30/40 minutes to get your food. The atmosphere of this place is comfortable bbq shack. The two meat plate with a drink ran me all of 27$. With the portions not being large; I was a little disappointed. Overall the food was good in flavor, just don’t go on an hour break.
Fantastic barbecue spot on Galveston Island in Texas. The brisket is tender, tasty and outright delicious. My daughter loved their macaroni and cheese as well as their coleslaw. The atmosphere is casual and rustic and feels very homey. Everything is fresh and made from scratch. We spoke with the cook who was a great guy and very knowledgeable, not only in regards to his kitchen and the food he prepares, but also as a human being. We had a great conversation with him and my kids loved hearing what he had to say.
I’ve been coming to Queens for years when I visit the island and I was excited to finally get back after a few years away but I think this may be my last visit. $50 for two chopped sandwiches, fries, and drinks. The sandwiches were more meat cubes than chopped. Half the sandwich was fatty bits and the other had a texture I would not expect with brisket. My son wouldn’t even touch his. The fries weren’t awful, though they were more of a cross between a chip and a potato skin than fry. Over all I was just disappointed.
