Best homestyle BBQ I’ve had so far. I got 3 meats and 3 sides for under $30. It beats Corkscrew and Rudy’s and Papas BBQ hands-down. This isn’t in an upscale area. It’s tucked away and nestled in an older subdivision. The cashier and servers are young but friendly and responsive. I complained to the cashier that the toilet was clogged up and the door wouldn’t shut and he immediately tried to fix the issue. They didn’t serve unsweetened iced tea but had your usual soda and water beverages. There was a nice outdoor eating area but I quickly left since there were stray cats that started to swarm around me and my delicious food. Oh so good, the meat was not too salty nor too sweet. Stopped in 4/5/2024 just after 11:30am. I arrived with my mother since we were in the area. It was our first time visiting. I really wanted to like this place because of all the great things I had heard. It was disappointing. The hospitality was great, service a little slow and the atmosphere was laid back. My mother ordered the 3 meat plate: white meat chicken which they forgot to put in the plate (the best thing they had to offer), ribs which were small/subpar and brisket that tasted like something my uncle made in the oven…tough, chewy and very disappointing. I had the sliced brisket sandwich combo which also had chewy brisket and lots of fat (only ate half and sent the rest home with my mother to feed the cats) with a side of dirty rice. I told the cashier on the way out that the chicken was on point and the brisket was chewy and tough. She said she would tell the kitchen. Maybe it was an off day, but for a Friday lunchtime rush, you have to come correct or don’t come at all. If I’m in the area in the future I might stop by to give them a second chance, but there’s way too many options in Houston doing BBQ better.
My 1st time coming here, I ordered a bake potato w/chopped beef. It was good and the original bar-q chip was good. The bar-q sauce is good. The outside was a little too warm, but a nice patio seating. The parking lot is small and there is handicap parking available. The next time I want to try the burger, until next time.
