Tried out this little BBQ joint. It was pretty good, but the portions on the meat were pretty small. The chicken fried steak was okay. Wasn’t the best in the world but edible. The service was awesome and the restaurant had lots of cool memorabilia. See pictures. Baked potatoe was great..HUGE..overall a good experience. Might go again. God bless.
As I travel around Texas, I will frequently stop in little restaurants next to gas stations for BBQ and I’m often glad. This was place was average. Maybe the burgers are great, I don’t know. The brisket had good flavor and bark but was dry, even at 11am. The potato salad and cole slaw tasted like it was scooped out of a sysco’s food bucket and the sausage was a bland as grocery store sale weinners . The service was good and the vibe was comfortable but the smoker outside suggested a better experience.
Walking distance from the loves truckstop just under the other side of the freeway absolutely fantastic ribs. I tried without putting sauce on them first and then the sauce was just the finishing touch really really good. I also recommend the mac & cheese, just the way I like it rich, creamy and cheesy, I will say that I have had better mashed potatoes and gravy, but that’s just my opinion. I would say a definite thumbs up and I will be returning to this place yet again.
