This place has some good bbq with true smoke flavor! Brisket was good, not great. Ribs were great, sausage was good. Their sauce is very unique and goes great with the ribs. None of the meat seemed too heavily seasoned, but had bark from the smoke. Only sides they have are beans, potato salad, and chips. We enjoyed their beans a lot. They have a card reader now! Atmosphere was great and seemed to have plenty of seating even for the line of people ordering. Friendly and helpful staff.
This is my all around favorite BBQ spot. Staff is always fast and friendly. I have been going here for over 40 years! Food is always consistent…ribs and sausage are my favs. Be sure to grab you a bottle of the BBQ sauce. My family usually finishes a whole bottle and we normally don’t use any BBQ sauce with our BBQ. Don’t the long line scare you…it moves pretty fast…Cash only!
Was told about City Market by a friend. Since I was riding through the area, I took the opportunity to stop. The atmosphere is awesome. You walk back into a dark room to order your meat, then go up front and order sides and drinks, a bit odd but it seems to work for them. The brisket is good, nothing super special, the sauce is pretty great though, very unique. After asking another friend, I should have gotten the ribs, it is what they are known for. Next time.
