I love a good hot dog, and Crave did not disappoint. Had the Memphis Dog with mac and cheese and a drink. All for about $10. I’m a big guy, and one hot dog was plenty. Very tasty and grilled perfect. And the mac and cheese is to die for. So great – I’ll be back.
Peter was super helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. However, the brisket bowl was not good. The brisket itself looked and tasted old and hard and the bowl overall looked sloppy. After trying to pick through to find the “good” parts of meat, it looked even less appetizing. The pulled pork sandwich was a disappointment because, again, the meat was dry and the bun was hard as if it had been microwaved. I purchased a Groupon so I didn’t pay full price for the food, which is the only reason I did not call them back about a refund/replacement. I really wanted it to be good because the service from Peter was so awesome but I could not finish any of it. The pineapple upside down cake was really good though!
I’m not sure how this place is so popular and how it has any reviews above one star. I ordered a New Yorker “Jumbo” Hot Dog and a Smoked Brisket Sandwich with two Dr. Peppers from the Crave Food Truck. I would’ve asked for a refund but my last meal was over ten hours before I ordered this, plus I waited in line for over 15 min, and the line behind me was about 30 people deep. This “jumbo” hot dog was a regular sized hot dog. Jumbo is what you get at Costco or Sam’s Club for 75% less. The saucy onions tasted like vinegar with honey, and it lacked onions. The smoked brisket sandwich was tough and smelled like spoiled meat. My son completely avoided it and his last meal was over 12 hours before. I really wish I had the time and energy to get my money back but for $23 bucks it wasn’t worth wasting another 30 min of my time.
