We were at the lake sight seeing. For my nephew bithday and thought is would be good to eat local. So glad we went to Davy Crockett restaurant. If in area might stop again. Food was great. Home made. Great servings. Waiter was wonderful. All staff was friendly. Fried mushrooms Had chicken plates Homemade mashed potatoes. Mixed veg. Fish and onion rings
Went in for a late lunch today after exploring Davy Crockett Nat’l Forest. Was greeted by a very happy and helpful waitress that really seemed to enjoy her job. She took our drink order then returned with our drinks and some pork rinds for the table. this was a first for me, usually chips, but OK. I picked one up and ate it and let me tell you, these were the best pork skins ever! I later asked our waitress if they were made in house or store bought. She said they were made there in the restaurant. When I remarked how good they were she smiled and said it’s one of the reasons she works there, because the food is so good! Well all our food was good, my catfish was spot on and my wifes Hawg Club was so good I stole her leftovers and ate them for dinner. My wife and I had a very nice experience here and I highly recommend Davy Crockett Grill!
Right off the bat, to whoever is reading this right now, please, please … Don’t ever give up On to the review When we left Livingston, Texas we looked on Google Maps and was like, dang … We are really close to Louisiana but we never visited Dallas or Houston so we decided to cut out north and we worked a few gig jobs and then decided, you know what, it’s time to eat, lol So we found this hidden gem and was glad we did I’m old school so for me this was an absolute treasure … Not to mention the food here was delicious with a capital D Love the inside too … Really makes you feel at home … And the whole staff here was awesome sauce as well Highly recommend
