Passed by Galvan’s several times before even noticing it. Stopped by today to give it a try, and it was great. This is a no-frills place, the kind that I like. . Step to the far right to order and be served. Shuffle left to get your order and pay. It is about a 10 foot counter, so the only tricky thing is that the chips are behind you. . My wife ordered a sliced brisket sandwich, lean. They happily sliced off the delicious fat cap like she wanted, then stacked it proudly with the beef. I ordered the 2 meat plate, adding her fat to my plate. Yes, that’s awful. Yes, it was delicious. . The food was fork tender, invited with smoky goodness. The two meat plate was ample, easily making me unable to finish it. The brisket was excellent, as was the sausage. I also got the fresh sweet corn on the cob, and it was fantastic. The whole meal was very good. . The ambiance was country BBQ, very workaday. The place had constant business, which I was glad to see. I’d like them to stay in business so I can come back . After lunch we stopped next door to the wood seller, stocking up for a fire pit evening. . Excellent experience. We’ll be back.
Hey, man! This hole in the wall has some purty darn good BBQ. Great BBQ odor from outside and authentic no frills restaurant inside that gave a garage bbq feeling (which I enjoyed). Staff greeted me and was cordial, respectful, and friendly. I had the brisket and sausage plate and,maaaan, finger linkin good!!! Brisket had the charred, fatty bark with good smoky flavor (mmm-mmmmmm!!) sausage was not greasy and flavorful. Coleslaw was a lot more chopped than I prefer, but taste was good. Even the black eyed peas are delicious. I grabbed the homemade spicy chicharrones as a snack and I’m not disappointed. If I was local, I’d be a regular customer. I recommend eating here.
All around great place to eat, I wanna see ya open back up soon… please, I drive along way for the great food/ atmosphere
