Came back today to get some of their delicious bourbon smoked cheese cake with lunch. Get there about 11:20 and the restaurant is empty of patrons. My son tried the Andrew again, said it was a little on the dry side, but very flavorful. He ate all of it. I picked what they call the Chico Plate, one meat with two sides. I chose half chicken with fried okra and mac and cheese. Mine was also a little dry but very flavorful. I wish the mac and cheese had been a little more creamy. Tasted better during the first visit. Only one BIG negative, they didn’t have any cheesecake made so that wasn’t good. This was our first time eating here. We stopped in around lunch and were greeted with a relaxed atmosphere and big smiles from the staff. I had the Beck’s Mac Bowl and my son had the Andrew. We took home the bourbon smoked cheesecake to share. Everything was delicious!! Definitely going to eat here again.
it was awesome! Their wings were great, I couldve crushed another plate! I don’t normally eat smoked or bbq, but their ribs and black pepper sausage was Staff super friendly. Thurs Fri and Sat they have steak! And thurday nights they have live music !
I am not sure why the reviews are so high for Harold Dean Smoked Goods. I ordered chicken wings, pork ribs, beans and potato salad online. When I arrived at the store to pick up, no one was in the restaurant. I was asking help several times, calling and shouting, but no one came out. I have waited for about 5 minutes, then a staff came out finally. He checked my orders and gave the food in the black vinyl bags. I came home and started digging. Chicken wings are very dry. Pork ribs are way under cooked with lots of fats. It was inedible! Beans are salty. Then potato salad was missing! I checked my phone at that time and found the guy who helped me at the restaurant called me and left a voice message about the missing potato salad…. What a nightmare! I didn’t even bother calling back, because I didn’t even want to waste my time driving back there to pick up the missing order. This was the worst BBQ experience in my life! I may be the unlucky one, but I will not go back to this place.
