With great respect to the OG Mikeskas and their many awards and reputation, this place is trying hard and sadly isn’t keeping up. The jerky used to be by the dozen and ready to go. We had to buy vacuum sealed thin pepper jerky. When we arrived at primetime 3pm on a Friday, they only had one person charging and the line was unacceptable. The staff member responsible for charging the jerky and buffets seemed uninterested in serving us.
For a quick bite on the route, we stopped here for lunch and I was vastly impressed by the food quality and quantity of this place. The portion is generous and the quality is phenomenal; my parents had been here years ago but it was my first time and I had a great experience. I ordered the deluxe plate and the sides are all amazing. I highly recommend this place. I will dare say that it is better than Buccees.
Food is very flavorful, meat had a perfect smoke balance and cooked to perfection. Plenty of choices of meat, sides and desert. Restaurant has plenty of seating and parking lot is a good size. Service is good.
