Really good barbecue. We had the brisket which had great flavor and super tender. The glazed ribs also had a perfect cook with good flavor. Had the jalapeno cheddar and house sausage, I personally liked the jalapeno cheddar more but both were good. The boudain had good flavor. The mac and cheese had a really flavor and texture. The smoked bread pudding was really good with the blueberry glaze and the banana foster pudding was really good. Definitely one of the best things I’ve eaten in San Antonio and I see why it’s on the Texas Monthly list. Got there at 1130 and waited maybe 15 minutes to get inside. Was a little slow and took abt 35 total minutes to order but nothing outrageous.
We came for dinner pretty late in the day, and so they only had brisket left (which we expected) but the brisket was still really good – really tender and tasted great The cowboy beans (our favourite side) and mac and cheese were both great too. Didn’t love the potato salad and rice as much, but I think that was just a matter of personal taste as they still seemed high quality. Everything we ate was really good for a chain restaurant – would recommend going earlier in the day when they have more options still available.
