This place is great! Best food along the highway since San Antonio. Best creamed corn I have ever had, the beans are great, and the pulled pork tacos are awesome. Friendly service, the staff checked on all of the customers from what I could tell. Definitely will be stopping back by on another trip, and will be telling all of my family in Texas. Pit Stop is a solid spot to get some BBQ if you happen to be traveling through the area. Especially on a Sunday, when there are really limited options. The staff were super warm and welcoming and the food was exactly what I needed as a pit stop on my travels across Texas.
This place was recommended to me from a lady across the way at another restaurant because I said I wanted barbecue. I ordered a two meat plate with smoked turkey and sliced brisket, cream, corn, and potato salad. The cream corn was amazing. Probably one of the best I’ve had in the very very long time felt like homestyle cooking, which is very hard to find nowadays. It’s definitely one of the best barbecue places I’ve been to the quality of meat was really tender smoked turkey was super soft. I highly recommend stopping at this location. The servers are very polite, very informative about answering my questions in regards to how the food was prepared and what kind of meat they use and where they get the meat from
