I’ve taken my family here now quite a few times since moving to the DFW area. I’ve always loved Rudy’s. However, this location is top of the pyramid for me now. The food is predictably good and consistent. I always get what seems to be too much, but it’s one of the few places, my young kids will actually eat their food. My littles INHALE the brisket and I’ve had to buy more at times. That NEVER happens anywhere else. This specific Rudy’s is special tho. Every time I’ve gone, the staff are incredibly polite, friendly, and kind to my kiddos. They always have fun, TX themed coloring pages and they give you free grilled cheese sandwiches! I’ve seen, what I assume to be the owner/operator, come thru, and he is also just a happy and friendly soul. He has always asked how we are doing, but I also watch him do the same to the staff. This is genuinely just a downright pleasant place to come and they will have my business consistently.
Been going to Rudy’s for more than a decade with great satisfaction. Today, however, in our first ever visit to the Fort Worth location, it was completely a disappointment. As a big fan of Rudy’s turkey, I understand that sometimes there are inconsistencies with the moistness of the meat; but it has always been good. When you pay $23.98/lb for turkey to be sliced for sandwiches, you don’t expect a third of your order to come out as a handful of crumbs. (See photo) This was an epic fail and total downer to open the package clear across town only to discover there were mostly small bits and pieces without so much as 2 or 3 viable sandwich slices in the white paper. I am sorry we ordered at the drive-thru, otherwise we would have rejected the order. C’mon Rudy’s, you are better than this!!
