Looking for a good family place to eat. This is a good place. The smoked meats are tender and juicy. The sides are good but you come for the smoked meat and the buttery rolls. For dine in you grab a tray let them know what meat you want and slide your try to the sides and load your plate. Fountain Drink and desserts are by the checkout register. If you are getting your food to-go, bypass the food service line and go to the next counter, place you order. To-go orders, everything is individually wrapped or placed in a separate bag. Definitely a good place to get some brisket.
Ordered two meals with a side of fried okra. Glad I checked it before I left because they brought out this burnt okra. When I took it in the guy told me that was normal. Absolutely not and if that’s what you’re serving people then whew! Couldn’t wait 7min for them to probably burn it again since this is normal so got a refund
Our issue with this visit was the quantities of meat on our sandwiches versus the cost to purchase them. We had 4 people in our party on 2 tickets. Two of us ordered the sandwich baskets, we both requested ham as our meat, the gentleman grabbed a small piece of ham & proceeded to cut 5 very thin small pieces of meat for each sandwich & which didn’t even cover the bun. My daughter who also ordered the ham sandwich & my grandson had already gone through the line, paid & sat down. I asked the next gentleman working on the line if the amount of meat on my sandwich was normal to which he replied he could put some more on it, he took my sandwich & put 3 more little slices on it, still it was a joke in comparison to what you receive on sandwiches at most BBQ restaurants. I usually have enough left over for lunch the following day. The sandwich baskets which includes fries, for ham it was $13.95 but worth about $8. Prices versus portion at many restaurants today with shrink flation certainly isn’t worth your hard earned money while they price gouge the customers for huge profits. It’s really sad.
