We were on our way to Austin and had to stop by Terry blacks in Lockhart! We got a tour of their smoking pits and even looked at their smoking process of their famous brisket! Veronica at the counter was super friendly and recommended us the best pieces and even gave us burned ends for free! The pork ribs and the brisket was insanely well seasoned and juicy to perfection! I would definitely recommend getting those and try the turkey which was surprisingly moist! Their sides are also well seasoned and definitely try their beans for some extra ranch style flavor! Would recommend anyone who wants to try true Texas bbq to go to Terry blacks in Lockhart! The experience and flavors are worth the trip!
We are from San Antonio and drive to Austin to eat Terry Black’s Barbecue. Today we had the opportunity to go to the Lockhart location. From now on, this is our place! So worth the drive. The food is ridiculously good!! Today Mike took the time to talk to us outside by ALL the pits. He told us about the back story of how they got started, (fascinating ) how many briskets they cook in a day (unbelievable) etc. Such nice people, such great food!!
Alright folks…theres BBQ, there’s Texas BBQ, and then, there is Terry Black’s BBQ! They hosted our group for lunch and we were fortunate enough to be able to see how they prepare a brisket and what they look for as they prepare the meat. We got a “pit tour” to see them put the brisket in the cookers, and then, we got to sit down and eat a meal. Best BBQ in Texas! The atmosphere was awesome and our hosts were most gracious! They answered any and all of our questions. Do yourselves a favor, make the drive over to Lockhart, TX and eat at Terry Black’s…you will not be sorry!
