We were on the way back from San Antonio, Texas to the Rio Grande Valley, and decided to take a short detour to visit this small restaurant in Poteet, Texas, a city renowned for its strawberry growers located within Atascosa County. The high ratings and reviews of this restaurant caught my attention. We stopped by and were greeted by the very generous owner, Brad, who told us about his story and culinary experience. The menu has several items, and I wish we could have tried them all. We ordered the TX Ringer burger with a side of Mango Habanero Fries, and the Bacon Melt with a side of Garlic Parmesan Fries. The quality of the food was amazing, including the different flavors we were tasting. What a great combination. We definitely loved our food. A very relaxed, welcoming ambiance too. We were also given two slices of their homemade Poteet Strawberry Shortcake, which was also delicious. You could taste the freshness of the strawberries. Not too sweet, but very tasty—just right. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit at The Backyard Kitchen. I will absolutely be returning whenever I am in the San Antonio area again.
We had at the experience at The Backyard Kitchen in Poteet, TX! The Mushroom Swiss Burger was absolutely delicious—juicy and flavorful with the perfect amount of mushrooms and Swiss cheese. The Bacon Melt was also a hit, with crispy bacon and melted cheese making every bite a delight. We couldn’t resist trying the Chicken Pickle Cheese Fries, and they did not disappoint! The combination of crispy fries, tender chicken, and tangy pickles topped with cheese was a unique and tasty treat. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend!
