From the moment you pull up, it’s clear that The Shed is not just a shed. With indoor and outdoor seating, the family atmosphere is apparent and the seating is ample. The service is counter order but all the food is on display and the meat cutters are nice enough to occasionally let a small taste make its way off the boards and into a tummy. All the meat is well smoked and can certainly be considered competition grade. Although there is no table service as such, but the staff are all pleasent and friendly. Two meals with drinks, no alcohol approx $ 35. We don’t get to Abilene often, but can understand why it’s a local favorite.
Yummy! We were very impressed with our visit to the Shed Market today. We were sad that the special Prime Rib sold out right before we ordered, but we were pleased with our choices and we tried many of the meat options: brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage (original and with jalapeno). The sides we tried: cornbread muffins with jalapenos, potato salad, and coleslaw. The winner is the coleslaw with the cilantro dressing. This is the best coleslaw I’ve ever had! We have banana pudding and blackberry cobbler to try later…but for now…our food coma and settling into our Thanksgiving Day(stretchy) pants. :)
I recently had a death in our family and we went to The Shed for the food to feed the family. They were amazing and there was so much food , the helpings were generous and the little details like a nice potato bread instead of the cheap white that most places use, homemade pickles etc made it the true meaning of comfort food. They included cutlery, sauces, including a bottle of their name brand sauce and they even helped carry it all out and load it. The best BBQ and service I have seen in a long time. Thank you so much to the shed and their wonderful staff!!
