If you are anywhere near Childress, TX, you really ought to give this restaurant a try! We stopped for lunch just by chance on our way through to Santa Fe, and we’re happy we did. The BBQ beef brisket was out of this world, and baby back ribs my wife had were too good to do a foggy bag. Portions were large (see the pics). We will definitely be back next time we pass through.
Stopped in on our way home on a road trip. The fried mushrooms were the best I’ve ever had. Not the usual deep fried buttons you get everywhere else. So good. We split the sampler plate and there was plenty for the both of us. The BBQ sauce was the BEST! No twang or spicy, it was perfect for us. The sweet tea was just the right amount of sweet! The staff was very nice and gave a genuine welcoming experience. Bathroom was clean. All in all absolutely perfect dinner.
Nice BBQ restaurant. We had brisket, turkey, pinto beans, baked potato, and the fried onions. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. All of the food was really good. They lose one star for the brisket. It didn’t have any smoke flavor at all. It just tasted like plain roast beef. It was good, just not what you expect from a Texas BBQ joint.
