One of the best BBQ places in Texas. Ribs, sausage, brisket were amazing. We had the beans, tater casserole, Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts for sides, all A++ But are favorite part was our waiter Jerry, he’s the man, super friendly and attentive. Took very good care of our group, +1000 aura. Highly recommended
Good BBQ and very long lines. I thought the BBQ was nice, the service slow (but very kind and helpful folks), and the atmosphere was fun. We ate all the meats (brisket, turkey, pork ribs, jalapeño cheese sausage, and pulled pork), as well as many of the sides (Mack and cheese, slaw, potato salad, and tater tot casserole). Of the meats, I thought the turkey was their best offering. My least favorite meat was their pulled pork. It was a little fatty for my taste. For sure, the tater tot casserole is their best side. I did not care for their slaw. All of their sauces are pretty good and worth trying. The banana pudding is very nice. All in all, it was good BBQ but I will not stand in that line again for it. Not worth an hour in the Houston heat. As a side note, when we were inside the restaurant, the tables were never more than 50% full and they always had a very long line out the door. If they had more folks working the counter (like other busy BBQ places) they could move through the line much faster and possibly fill up their tables and chairs. It was a very odd thing to watch and felt a little like a club trying to look popular by making people wait in line to get in. A one hour line to get into a counter service restaurant that never had more than 50% of their tables full. My recommendation for the owners is hire more folks to work the counter and serve twice as many customers.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited Truth BBQ in The Heights during the lunch rush, and although the line was about 15-20 minutes, it was absolutely worth the wait! The sausage and ribs were outstanding—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The tater tot casserole was the unsung hero of the meal, a delightful surprise that shouldn’t be missed. The cake was a sweet treat to top it all off, and the atmosphere was fantastic with great music playing in the background. The BBQ sauce was decent, but everything else more than made up for it. I also appreciated the free water available outside while you wait in line. Highly recommend Truth BBQ for an unforgettable barbecue experience!
